§ 13-12 MARTINSVILLE CODE <br /> <br />conduct of such meeting or has a direct tendency to cause acts of violence by the person <br />or persons at whom, individually, such disruption is directed; provided, however, that <br />such conduct shall not be deemed to include the utterance or display of any words or <br />to include conduct otherwise made punishable under this chapter. <br /> <br />The person in charge of any such building, place, conveyance or meeting may eject therefrom <br />any person who violates any provision of this section, with the aid, if necessary, of any persons <br />who may be called upon for such purpose. <br /> Cross reference--Penalty for Class I misdemeanor, § 1-11. <br /> State law reference--Similar Provisions, Code of Virginia, § 18.2-415. <br /> <br />Sec. 13-13. Obstructing free passage of others. <br /> <br /> (a) Any person who, in any public place or on any private property open to the public, <br />unreasonably or unnecessarily obstructs the free passage of other persons to and from or <br />within such public place or private property, and who shall fail to refuse to cease such <br />obstruction or move on when required to do so by the owner or lessee or agent or employee of <br />such owner or lessee or by a duly authorized law-enforcement officer, shall be guilty of a Class <br />I misdemeanor. <br /> <br />(b) Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit lawful picketing. <br />Cross reference--Penalty for Class 1 misdemeanor, § 1-11. <br />State law reference--Similar provisions, Code of Virginia, § 18,2-404. <br /> <br />Sec. 13-15. Prohibited trick or treat activities. <br /> <br /> (a) If any person over the age of twelve (12) years shall engage in the activity commonly <br />known as "trick or treat" or any other activity of similar character or nature under any name <br />whatsoever, he shall be guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor. Nothing herein shall be construed as <br />prohibiting any parent, guardian or other responsible person, having lawfully in his custody a <br />child twelve (12) years old or younger, from accompanying such child who is playing "trick or <br />treat," for the purpose of caring for, looking after or prOtecting such child. <br /> <br /> (b) If any person shall engage in the activity commonly known as "trick or treat" or any <br />other activity of similar character or nature under any name whatsoever after 9:00 p.m. or on <br /> <br />Supp. No. 48 794 <br /> <br /> <br />
