Requirement of safety equipment for mopeds. <br /> <br />ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL <br /> <br />Sec. 12-1. Scope of chapter. <br /> <br />This chapter shall apply to every street, road, lane, boulevard, alley, sidewalk, driveway, <br />parking lot and other way for vehicular or pedestrian traffic within the city, the use of which <br />the city has the jurisdiction and authority to regulate. <br />(Code 1971, ~ 10-3) <br /> <br />Sec. 12-2. Adoption of state law generally. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the provisions of section 46.2-1313 and section 1-13.39:2 of the Code of Virginia, <br />the requirements of the laws of this state relating to motor vehicles or other vehicles contained <br />in title 46.2 of the Code of Virginia, the violation of which are misdemeanors or traffic <br />infractions, which are in effect on July 1, 1993 and all amendments to such laws adopted by <br />the state subsequent to July 1, 1993, except those which, by their very nature, can have no <br />application within the city, are hereby adopted and made a part of this chapter as fully as <br />though set out herein verbatim and are hereby made applicable within the city. Any references <br />made to "the state" or "the Commonwealth" in connection with highways, streets, roads, alleys, <br />or other places of vehicular travel shall be deemed to refer to the city. Any future amendment <br />made to a state statute incorporated by this section shall become effective in the city on the <br /> <br />Supp. No. 63 <br /> <br />716 <br />
