<br />MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC <br /> <br />~ 12-49 <br /> <br />for vehicular traffic in any parking lot open to the public designed to accommodate fifty (50) or <br />more vehicles. It shall be unlawful for any person to violate any such designation, marking or <br />speed limit. <br /> <br />Secs. 12-38-12-47. Reserved. <br /> <br />ARTICLE III. VEHICLE LICENSE* <br /> <br />Sec. 12-48. Required. <br /> <br />Except as otherwise provided in this article, the owner of every motor vehicle which is <br />normally garaged, stored or parked in this city shall have such vehicle currently licensed by <br />the city. In the event it cannot be determined whether such vehicle is normally garaged, stored <br />or parked in this city, the domicile of the owner shall govern. <br /> <br />Sec. 12-49. Exceptions. <br /> <br />No motor vehicle shall be required to be licensed by this city when: <br /> <br />(1) The motor vehicle has been licensed in Vrrginia by another city, county or town where <br />it is normally garaged, stored or parked. <br /> <br />(2) The motor vehicle was properly licensed by another city, county or town in Virginia <br />prior to being required to be licensed in this city and such other license is still valid. <br /> <br />(3) The motor vehicle is owned by a nonresident of this city and is used exclusively for <br />pleasure or personal transportation and not for hire or for the conduct of any business <br />or occupation other than that set forth in paragraph (4) below. <br /> <br />(4) The motor vehicle is owned by a nonresident and is used for transporting, into and <br />within this city, for sale in person or by his employees, wood, meats, poultry, fruits, <br />flowers, vegetables, milk, butter, cream or eggs produced or grown by him, and not <br />purchased by him for sale. <br /> <br />(5) The motor vehicle is owned by an officer or employee of the commonwealth who is a <br />nonresident of this city and who uses the vehicle in the performance of his duties for <br />the commonwealth under an agreement for such use. <br /> <br />(6) The motor vehicle is kept by a dealer or manufacturer for sale or for sales demonstra- <br />tions. <br /> <br />*Charter reference-Authority of council to provide for the licensing of vehicles, Ch. 1, <br />~ 2(3). <br /> <br />Supp. No. 63 <br /> <br />723 <br />
