FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION <br /> <br />§ 9-32 <br /> <br />in article III of this chapter, except for the purpose of extinguishing fires, training or testing <br />purposes, recharging or making necessary repairs, or when permitted by the fire chief. <br />Whenever a fire appliance is removed as herein permitted, it shall be replaced or reinstailed <br />as soon as the purpose for which it was removed has been accomplished. Defective and <br />nonapproved fire appliances or equipment shall be replaced or repaired as directed by the fire <br />chief. <br />(Ord. of 10-26-82, § 19) <br /> <br />Sec. 9-19. Sale, trade, etc., of unapproved or defective fire extinguishers. <br /> <br /> No person shall sell, trade, loan or give away any form, type or kind of fire extinguisher <br />which is not approved by the fire chief or which is not in proper working order or the contents <br />of which do not meet the requirements of the current NiPA 10. The requirements of this <br />section shall not apply to the sale, trade or exchange of obsolete or damaged equipment for <br />junk, when the unit is permanently disfigured or marked with a permanent sign identifying <br />the unit as junk. <br />(Ord. of 10-26L82, § 20) <br /> <br />Sec. 9-20. Possession, sale, discharge, etc., of fireworks. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful and a Class I misdemeanor for any person, without the written <br />permission of the fire department, to possess, store, exhibit, sell or shoot or explode any <br />firecrackers, cherry bombs, Roman candles, torpedoes or other type of fireworks within the <br />city. <br /> Cross reference--Penalty for Class I misdemeanor, § 1-11. <br /> State law reference--Fireworks, Cede of V. irginia, § § 59.1-142--59.1-148. <br /> <br />Secs. 9,-21--9-30: Reserved. <br /> <br />ARTICLE II. FIRE MARSHAL* <br /> <br />Sec. 9-31.
