Prohibited during certain times. <br />Sec. 9-63. Prohibited on street or sidewalk. <br />Sec. 9-64. Fires inparks or playgrounds. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL <br /> <br />Sec. 9-1. Violations of article generally. <br /> <br /> Unless otherwise specifically provided, a violation of any provision of this article shall <br />constitute a Class 2 misdemeanor. <br />(Ord. of 10-26-82, 9 21) <br /> Cross reference--Penalty for Class 2 misdemeanor, § 1-11. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-2. Composition, management and control of fire department. <br /> <br /> The fire department shall consist of such officers and employees as shall be authorized by <br />the council. Such department shall be subject to the management and control of the city <br />manager. <br />(Code 1971, 9§ 2-4, 2-5; Ord. of 1-12-82) <br /> Charter reference--Authority of city to maintain a fire department, Ch. i, 9 2(31). <br /> <br /> Sec. 9-3. General authority of fire chief at fires and other emergencies. <br /> <br /> The fire chief and his duly authorized representatives in charge at the scene of afire or <br />other emergency involving the protection of life or property are empowered to direct such <br />operations as may be necessary to extinguish or control any suspected or reported fires, gas <br />leaks or other hazardous conditions or situations or of taking any other action necessary in <br />the reasonable performance of their duty. The fire chief shall have the authority to: Maintain <br />order at the fire or its vicinity, direct the actions of the fire fightors at the fire, facilitate the <br />speedy movement and operation offire-fighting equipment and fire fightors, and facilitate the <br />movement of traffic. The fire chief or other officer in charge shall display his badge or other <br />proper means of identification. The fire chief may remove or cause to be removed any person, <br />vehicle or object from hazardous areas.
