§ 5-6 MARTINSVILI~ CODE Secs. 5-6--5-15. Reserved. ARTICLE II. KEEPING OF LIVESTOCK AND. FOVf'L* Sec, 5-16. Violation of article. The violation of any provision of this article shall constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor and any nuisance created by such violation shall be ordered abated. (Ord. No. 95-9, 9,26-95) Cross reference-Penalty for Class 1 misdemeanor, § 1-11. Sec. 5-17. Keeping of swine, goats or sheep prohibited. Notwithstanding any other provision of this article, it shall be unlawful for any person to keep or maintain any hog, pig, goat, or sheep within the city. This section shall not prohibit the transportation of.such animals through the city. (Ord. No. 95-9, 9-26-95) Sec. 5-18~ Keeping of other livestock and poultry prohibited; exception. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to keep within the city any horse, mule, cow, donkey, chicken, turkey, duck, or other like animal classified as livestock or fowl. (b) The provisions of this section shall not apply to the keeping of any waterfowl in a natural habitat environment on any lake or pond, natural or manmade, larger than five (5) acres in area. (c) The provisions of this section shall not apply to the keeping of horses for use by the mounted patrol unit of the Martinsville Police Department, or the keeping of horses used for carriage rides within the city.
