§ 4-2 MARTINSVILLE CODE <br /> <br />Sec. 4-2. Reserved. <br /> <br /> Editor's note--Ord. No. 96-2, adopted Mar. 26, 1996, repealed § 4-2 which pertained to <br />audit of reports in connection with bingo games and raffles and the fees for such audit. Sec. 4-2 <br />was derived from an ordinance adopted July 10, 1979, and Ord. No. 94-10, adopted Nov. 8, <br />1994. <br /> <br />Sec. 4-3. Percentage of gross receipts from bingo game~ and raffles to be used for <br /> those lawful, religious, charitable, community or educational purposes for <br /> which the organization is specially chartered or organized. <br /> <br /> Every organization receiving a permit to conduct bingo games or raffles in the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, be, and it hereby is, required to use twelve (12) percent of its gross <br />receipts from all bingo games or raffles for those lawful, religious, charitable, community or <br />educational purposes for which the organization is specifically chartered or organized or for <br />the payment of those expenses relating to the acquisition, construction, maintenance or repair <br />of any interest in the real property involving the operation of the organization and used for <br />lawful, religious, charitable, community or educational purposes. <br />(Ord. Reserved. <br /> <br />ARTICLE II. POOLROOMS AND BILLIARD ROOMS <br /> <br />Sec. 4-13. Violations of article. <br /> <br /> Unless otherwise specifically provided, a violation of any provision of this article shall <br />constitute a Class I misdemeanor. <br /> Cross referencc Penalty for Class 1 misdemeanor, § 1-11. <br /> <br />Sec. 4-14. Ground floor location required; visibility of interior from sidewalk and <br /> <br /> No person shall operate a public poolroom or billiard room within the city unless the same <br />is located on the ground or street level floor of the building. The building shall have a street <br />level entrance, the front of which shall contain transparent glass windows or glass in the doors, <br />so that a view of the entire poolroom area may be visible to a person five-feet-eight-inches tall <br />standing on the sidewalk immediately in front of the building, and no curtain or partial <br />partition shall be arranged in the room where pool or billiards are played so as to obscure a <br />clear and unobstructed vision of the area of the room to a person standing at the entrance of <br />the premises. <br />(Code 1971, § 11-32) <br /> <br />Supp. No. 58 266 <br /> <br /> <br />
