ADMINISTRATION S 2-107 n, . ------' ARTICLE VII. PLANNING COMMISSION* Sec. 2-105. Cr~ated; composition; appointm~nt, etc., of members. (a) There shall be a city planning commission, which shall consist of seven (7) members, who shall be appointed by the city council. One member may be an administrative official of the city, whose term of office as a member of the commissioll shall correspond to his official tenure, unless otherwise terminated. One member of the commission may also be a member of the board of zoning appeals, in wl:1ich event his term of office as a member of the planning commis!;1ion shall expire with his term of office as a member of the board of zoning appeals, unless. otherwise replaced. (b) Members of the planning commISSIon shall be residents of the city qualified by knPwledge and experience to make decisions on questions of community growth and develop- ment. At least one~half of suchmemhers shall be freeholders. Except as otherwise specifically provided in subsection (a) above, members of the COmmission shall hold no other municipal office. 0, (c) Members of the planning commission, other than the meIllber who is an administrative official of the city and the member who is a member of the bpard of zoning appeals, shall be appointed initially by lot for terms oftwo (2}and four (4) years, four (4) being appointed for two (2) year terms and the remainder being appointed for four (4) year terms. Compensati()n of members. All members of the planning COmmission shall serve, as such, without compensation. (Code 1971, ~ 2-9) Sec. 2-107. Removal of members. ,/i! Inefficiency, neglect of duty or malfeasance in office shall be deemed sufficient caus~s for the removal from office pf any member of the planning commission, Who is 'llot a municipal office hold,er, but such removal shall be made only by the city cO\1ncil and only after a public hearing , on the question of removal has been conducted by the council.
