Mr. Niblett replied, "1 really enjoy what I do. We have <br /> an excellent staff, and Chief Rogers is excellent to work for." Mr. Carter replied, "What I <br /> do is what I love to do." <br /> <br /> Mayor Crabtree declared the Town Meeting open. Mrs. Prillaman presented the <br />Customer Concerns Report and stated, "The main neighborhood concerns are unsightly <br />properties, dilapidated houses, inoperative vehicles, and police concerns. To date, all <br />concerns in the Museum area have been resolved or measures are underway to resolve <br />the situation." Jimmy Crigger, of 1122 South Askin Street, stated, "Some of the reason <br />for the decline in complaints is a lot of, people haven't complained because they're <br />waiting to see what the Southside grant project does." Council Member Roop <br />requested follow-up regarding 100 Aaron Street. Council Member Haskell asked, "Are <br />there any major problems you see that we can help you with? Are there any <br />shortcomings of code?" Mrs. Prillaman replied, "Nothing has come to the forefront in <br />particular." Thelma Pinkard, of 208 Park Street, stated, "Most of these properties wiN. <br />complaints are rental properties. Most homeowners take care of their property; rental <br />owners do not." David Gilbert, of 1406 Chatham Road, asked, "What is the inspection <br />process?" Thomas Harned, Assistant to the City Manager for Development, replied, <br />"The complaint is filed, and the property is inspected. Property owners are notified and <br />generally given 30 days to correct. The property is then reinspected. If the violation <br />has not been corrected, an informal meeting is held with the property owner to develop <br />a plan of correction. It is sent to the City Attorney within 60 days." Vice Mayor Teague <br />stated, "Somewhere in the process, the City can do the improvements and bill for their <br /> <br /> <br />
