<br /> Dewey P. Cashwell, Jr., Assistant City Manager, stated, "We're here tonight to
<br />recognize .worthy and fine service." Council recognized the following City employees
<br />with Service Awards for January - March 2000:

<br /> 25 Years: Fire Department - Jerry W. Brock, Timothy C. Powell,
<br /> Walter A. Powell, Jr., Robert D. Riggs; Commissioner of the
<br /> Revenue's Office - Posie L. Roach, Jr.
<br /> 20 Years: Police Department- Linda B. Kanode, Michael E.
<br /> Rogers; Water Resources Department - Jack D. McDowell,
<br /> Clinton Martin, Jr.; Public Works Department - Steven L.
<br /> Thacker.
<br /> 15 Years: Water Resources Department - Alvin T. Taylor, Sr.
<br /> 5 Years: Sheriffs Office - Richard H. Pulljam, Patty R. Morrison;
<br /> Fire Department - James A. Hill; Water Resources Department
<br /> -Glenn E. Clements.

<br /> Mr. Cashwell stated, "This is an opportunity to recognize special contributions of,
<br />by, and for the employees." Council recognized the nominees for the 2000 First Quarter
<br />Service Excellence Award: Lane Shively, Public Works; Henry Hall, Public Works; Dan
<br />Howell, Fire; and Pete Hall, Public Works. Mr. Cashwell, assisted by Brenda Prillaman,
<br />Customer Services Representative, presented a $50 check to the winner, Lane Shively,
<br />who stated, "1 thank the Lord and the City for the privilege to work for them."

<br /> Council recognized all 1999 nominees for the Service Excellence Award: Robert
<br />Harris, Electric; Betty Roach, Community Development; Steve Sims, Public Works;
<br />Bobby White, Water Resources; Mike Agee, Public Works; Marshall Claybrooks, Public
<br />Works; Jim Minter, Police; Richard Young, Public Works; Sandy Handy, Leisure
<br />Services; Jo Jo Hunalley, Leisure Services; Mike Scaffidi, Public Works; Junior Taylor,
<br />Water Resources; Doug Wickham, Water. Resources; Ronald Shively, Public Works;
<br />and Mike Rogers, Police; and quarterly winners Leonard Carter, Fire; Cindera Martin,
<br />Police; Cindy Barbour, Public Works; and Cliff Niblett, Police. A tie was announced,
