OUT LIMITS

Enclosur,

Service
Excellence
Award

March 28, 2000

We are pleased to announce the Annual Service Excellence Award winner and the I st quarter
2000 winner. Also, all 1999 nominees will be recognized at tonight's Neighborhood Town Meeting.
Each nominee sets a true example of what a public servant should be. Being nominated by
peers is a .great honor and each one is to be commended for their individual efforts to create a
positive, productive working atmosphere.
Each City employee has the opportunity of making a nomination for this award by submitting a
written, signed statement as to why the award should go to the nominee with examples of instances
where nominee-exhibited "going the extra mile".
Members of the Customer Service Committee (who are exempt from the award) scored each
· nomination on a point system. Serving on the 1999 Customer Service Committee ware Brenda
Prillaman (Customer Service), Andrea Ward (Purchasing), Clarence Monday (Fire), Tim Porter
(Police), Wayne Knox Community Development), Sharon EchoIs (Utility Billing), Chris Morris (Public
Works), Jerry Caesar (Water Resources), and Mike Wilson (Electric). This award is not a popularity
contest, it is solely about the employee who goes the extra mile and provides exceptional service in
their job as a public servant. Each quarter, a winner will be selected and those four quarterly winners
will be eligible for the Annual Service Excellence Award.

Congratulations to the following 4 employees who were nominated for the
2000 first QUARTER Service Excellence Award:

Lane Shively (Public Works)
Henry Hall (Public Works)

Dan Howell (Fire)
Pete Hall (Public Works)

The four 1999 quarterly winners eligible for the 1999 ANNUAL Service Excellence
Award are:

Leonard Carter (Fire)
Cindera Martin (Police)

Cindy Barbour (Public Works)
Cliff Niblett (Police)

All 1999 nominees are:

Leonard Carter (Fire)
Robert ·Harris (Electric)
Betty Roach (Community Development)
Steve Sims (Public Works)
Bobby White (Water Resources)
Mike Agee (Public Works)
Marshall Claybrooks ( Public Works)
Cindera Martin (Police)
Jim Minter (Police)
Richard Young (Public Works)

Sandy Handy (Leisure Services)
Jo Jo Hundley (Leisure Services)
Mike Scaffidi (Public Works)
Junior Taylor (Water Resources)
Doug Wickham (Water Resources)
Cindy Barbour (Public Works)
Ronald Shively (Public Works)
Mike Rogers (Police)'
Cliff Niblett (Police)
