02/04/00 04:26 FAX ~ 08 <br /> <br />Consodium Agreement <br />West Piedmont Workforce Investment Area <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />SECTION 4: <br /> <br />CREATION of the WEST PIEDMONT <br />WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD <br /> <br />There is hereby created, the WEST PIEDMONT WORKFORCE INVESTMENT <br />BOARD, hereinafter referred to as the 'BOARD". <br /> <br />4.01: APPOINTMENT of MEMBERS to the BOARD <br /> <br />The CONSORTIUM shall appoint the members of the BOARD in accordance with the <br />process required by Section 11 7(c)1) (A) of the Workforce Investment Act as <br />described immediately below. <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />The CONSORTIUM, acting together, shall appoint at least two representatives <br />from each of the following public sector categories; <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />(2) <br />(3) <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />Local educational en'tles, including adult education and literacy and <br />postsecondary institutions; <br />Labor organizations; <br />Community Based Organizations, meaning private nonprofit organizations <br />that are representative of cornmunities within the local area that have <br />demonstrated expertise and effectiveness in the field of workforce <br />development;, and, <br />E;onomic Development agencies or organizations. <br /> <br />Also acting together, the CONSORTIUM shall appoint at least one <br />representative from each of category of required partners in the Local Workforce <br />Investment Area One-Stop Center unless otherwise already represented on the <br />board. The required One-Stop Partners are: <br /> <br />(1) <br />(2) <br />(3) <br />(4) <br />(5) <br />(6) <br /> <br />(7) <br /> <br />Local School Boards; <br />Local Community Colleges; <br />Community Action Agencies; <br />Administrative Entity for local Welfare to Work Programs; <br />Department of Rehabilitative Services or Visually Handicapped; <br />Area Agency on Aging and/or Nationally funded Older Wo~er <br />Employment and Training Programs; <br />Local Virginia Employment Commission, <br /> <br /> <br />
