Council Member Dallas moved to authorize the City Attorney to draft an <br />Ordinance to change the due date of personal property taxes to 30 days after the bills <br />are mailed; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all <br />members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays <br />(0) - None; Absent (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council Member Roop stated, "I'd like to commend John Dyches and his crew. A <br />pipe ruptured this morning at the Police Academy, and they responded very quickly." <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with. <br /> Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br /> by Council Member Haskell, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br /> convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br /> A. Consultation with legal counsel retained by Council regarding <br /> specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice, as <br /> authorized in Subsection 7. <br /> B. Possible disposition of publicly held real property, as itlJth.o. riz,~J jr1 <br /> Subsection 3. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br /> (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br /> discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br /> Session. <br /> <br /> <br />
