October 12, 1999 <br /> <br />"Control." Mayor Crabtree said, "1 commend City Manager Reynolds for working so <br />diligently. He was a leader in rallying the local administrators." Council Member <br />Haskell moved to authorize the City Manager to send a letter in support of the proposed <br />Workforce Investment area; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following <br />vote, with all present members voting: Vote 4 - 1; Yeas (4) - Crabtree, Haskell, Roop, <br />Teague; Nays (1) - Dallas; Absent (0) - None. <br /> <br /> Council considered approval of a list of items for which reappropriations need to <br /> be made from the FY1998-1999 Budget to the FY1999-2000 Budget. Council Member <br /> Haskell asked, '~Nhat is the status of the Moss-Barton project?" Mr. Knox replied, "The <br /> last rehabilitation was completed today. A public hearing is scheduled for December 9, <br /> 1999, for the last condemnation." Vice Mayor Teague asked, "How do the <br /> reappropriations effect school staffing?" Ron Epperly, .representing the City School <br /> System, responded, "They allow us to keep current staff in the event that the current <br /> appropriations are less than projected." Council Member Haskell asked, "How much <br /> has been spent on the Albert Harris project?" Mr. Epperly responded, "$4 million. <br /> We're number eleven on the State Literary Funding projects list." Vice Mayor Teague <br /> stated, "There is a large school fund balance. We shouldn't leave it unused." Jodi <br /> Dalton, Technology Director at Martinsville High School, said, '~Ne're spending the rest <br /> of the money. We're in the final stages." Council Member Dallas moved to approve <br /> reappropriations as presented (Attachment A); the motion was duly seconded; and <br /> carried by the following vote, with all present members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - <br /> Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None; Absent (0) - None. <br /> <br /> <br />
