July 27, 1999 <br /> <br /> that the City is utilizing only approximately one-third of its <br /> capacity reserve. <br /> Wade Bartlett, Finance Department - Mr. Bartlett stated that BB&T <br /> Bank will no longer accept drafts for utility bills. <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of VirGinia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br />by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br /> <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br />Appointment/Reappointments to the Martinsville-Henry County <br />Clean Community Board, as authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed SessionS' :each' member of Council certified that <br /> <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting-requirements were <br />discussed: in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard~ discussed, or considered during said <br /> <br />Session. <br /> <br />Following their return to open meeting, Council took the action below, by the <br /> <br />following vote: <br /> <br /> A. Council Member Roop moved to reappoint Marguerite Wilson and <br /> Walter Massie and appoint Lee Ann Fuller to the Martinsville-Henry <br /> County Clean Community Board to two-year terms, expiring <br /> February 28, 2001; the motion was duly seconded and carried by <br /> the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - <br /> Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0)- None. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before Council during their regular <br />meeting, upon motion by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, by unan(mous vote, <br /> <br />Clerk of Council Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
