Mrs. Adkins added, <br />q'he Chamber will.send a bus with 46 members to Richmond on Monday, January 31 ." <br /> <br /> City Manager Reynolds stated, "On an invitation by Delegate Armstrong, the City <br />will sponsor one of four buses traveling to Richmond on January 31 to attend the <br />General Assembly." <br /> <br /> Council considered business from the floor, Sammy Wright, of Church Street <br />Auto, 926 Church Street, stated, "The City has been excellent to work with. I would like <br /> <br />to directly ask you to consider the East End for redevelopment." City Manager <br />Reynolds replied, '~'our request is very timely. The East End. is next in the <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan." Vice Mayor Teague requested that Thomas Harned, Assistant <br />City Manager for Development, meet with Mr. Wright. <br /> <br /> Tony Rinaldi, Director of Leisure Services, stated, "1 invite everyone to the <br />basketball game, Harlem Rockets vs. Martinsville All-Stars, Monday, February 7, 2000, <br />7:00 P. M., Martinsville Middle School. All money raised will go to the recreation <br />department." <br /> <br /> Council considered authorizing the City Manager to execute a Deed conveying <br />City-owned property known as Lot 34 on Railroad Street being sold to Bernie F. Gray, <br />Jr. City Manager Reynolds stated, "In November 1999, City Council conducted a Public <br />Hearing. We received an offer from Mr. Gray for the assessed value of $7,100. Vice <br />Mayor Teague moved to authorize the City Manager to execute the conveyance Deed; <br />the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members <br />voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />
