I · January 25,2000 Enclosure #1 The Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, convened for a special called meeting as the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority on January 25, 2000, in Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, beginning at 6:45 P. M., with Chairman Mark Crabtree presiding. Authority Members present included: Mark A. Crabtree, Chairman;. M. Gene Teague, Vice Chairman; and Authority Members Bruce H. T. Dallas, Elizabeth H. Haskell, and Terry L. Roop. The Authority considered the need to meet in Closed Session'. In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion by Authority Vice Chairman Teague, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, the Authority convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matter: A. Possible disposition of publicly-held real property, as authorized by Subsection 3. At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of the Authority certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Closed Session;. and (2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said Session. Vice Chairman Teague moved to authorize Administration to offer 50 acres of the Rives Road Industrial Park rail served land to any industry that will commit to 300 new jobs and a 30 million dollar investment. Administration is further authorized to communicate this new incentive to the Patrick Henry Development Council (PHDC), Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), and state/national commercial industrial real estate firms. Also, it is recommended to the Martinsville Industrial Development Authority to also offer a proportional incentive on the Clearview Business Park shell-building site. The motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members 38
