Vice Mayor Teague asked if there were plans to install Office 2000 software for <br /> <br />city staff; and was told that this would be done through a progressive phase out of Office 97 software. <br /> <br /> Council Member Haskell then asked the status of approval of the budget for the School system. Mr. <br />Reynolds replied that the Superintendent of Schools was not clear on whether the vote council took on the <br />Schools Budget on May 11, 1999 provided him with the ability to move ahead with the hiring of school <br />teachers. Council Member Roop stated his understanding that approval had been given to hire and to <br />provide a 2.95% pay increase. It was decided that Council would clarify its vote on this issue at their <br />meeting scheduled for May 24, 1999.
