Council Member Roop asked if the 2.95% pay increase provided included teachers, and was told that it would. Mayor Crabtree stated that he felt approval of the budget as recommended would be in order. Council Member Haskell stated that she would like to have public input on school capital and technology issues at the public hearing on the budget, before approval of those items. Council then adopted the School System's budget as recommended by the City Manager, by the following vote, all members voting: Vote: 5-0 Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. Nays: (0) None Council next considered setting a public hearing for the purpose of receiving/interviewing citizens interested in serving on the Martinsville the School Board. Mr. Reynolds noted that there were two posts to be filled, and that both the incumbents were eligible for reappointment.
