He noted that May 15 was the <br />legal deadline for confirmation of funding for instructional personnel, but that discussion of capital <br />concerns could be addressed at a later date. Council Member Roop asked if the 2.95% pay increase <br />provided included teachers, and was told that it would. Mayor Crabtree stated that he felt approval of the <br />budget as recommended would be in order. Council Member Haskell stated that she would like to have <br />public input on school capital and technology issues at the public hearing on the budget, before approval <br />of those items. Council then adopted the School System's budget as recommended by the City Manager, <br />by the following vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None <br /> <br /> Council next considered setting a public hearing for the purpose of receiving/interviewing citizens <br /> interested in serving on the Martinsville the School Board. Mr. Reynolds noted that there were two posts <br /> to be filled, and that both the incumbents were eligible for reappointment.
