TUESDAY, JULY 26, 1988 <br /> <br />Before concluding this meeting, the following members of Council inquired as <br /> <br />to--or commented on--the following matters: <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Willjams -- on "other" areas within the City <br />similar or akin tothe condemned property at 204 Park Street; <br />and on a specific instance of construction debris; <br /> <br />Councilman Groden -- on a reported policy adopted by the <br />Roanoke City School Board (or Roanoke City) which is more <br />"liberal" than the Martinsville City School Board's recently- <br />adopted policy establishing free tuition for children of non- <br />resident City employees if such children desire to attend City <br />schools; <br /> <br />Councilman McClain -- on a citizen's recent "Letter to the <br />Editor" pertaining to traffic signal "timing" and synchroni- <br />zation; and <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes -- on the VML-sponsored seminar for municipal <br />officials scheduled for July 27th-29th in Richmond, Virginia <br />(to be attended by members of City Council and City Manager <br />Brown). <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes then declared this meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W H~ Clerk of Council <br /> <br /> <br />
