FRIDAY JULY I, 1988

Although not included on the agenda for this organizational meeting but at the
request of the Council, City Manager Brown reported on the extent and effects
of a major rupture of a sixteen-inch water transmission line, which occurred in
the early evening hours of June 30, 1988, at a site just outside of the City's
water treatment plant on Jones Creek, with a temporary disruption in treated
water service and a loss of four million gallons of water. Mr. Brown reported,
further, that repairs were made within several hours following the rupture and
that service, with the exception of some dinginess in the water for the time
being, has returned to normal.

Mayor Oakes then declared this meeting adjourned.

W. ~[~n, Clerk of

Council
