TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1988 <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Williams' motion was seconded and unanimously carried, and the <br />redesignation to professional usage was effected by the following ordinance so <br />amending the City's Land Use Plan: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled, that the Land Use Plan of <br />the City of Martinsville be--and is hereby--amended to the extent <br />that an area consisting of properties fronting the south side of <br />East Church Street, between Church Street Extension and Booker <br />Road, is hereby designated for professional usage. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED'bysaid Council that, and emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force from date of adoption. <br /> <br />Also, upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council granted Ms. <br /> <br />Jane English's recently-filed petition seekingP-2 professional zoning for her <br /> <br />properties identified as Lots Nos. 18-through-22 fronting the south side of East <br /> <br />Church Street (within the area now designated for professional usage) by <br /> <br />adopting the following ordinance amending the City's Zoning MaD.-! accordingly: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled, that properties currently <br />owned by Ms. Jane P. English and identified as Lots Nos. <br />18-through-22, situated on the south side of East Church Street, <br />beginning at Church Street Extended and extending eastward, as <br />shown on the City's Tax Map at Map Section No. 34 (sub-section <br />"circle H") be--and they hereby are--rezoned from R-9 Residential <br />to P-2 Professional; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after February <br />10, 1988o <br /> <br />In accordance with duly-published notice, Council conducted a public hearing on <br />Dorn-Will Development Corporation~s petition (recommended for Council's approval <br />by the Planning Commission) seeking the abandonment of unused right-of-way <br />situated within the area off the south side of East Church Street, east of <br />Salmon Street, in which Dorn-Will proposes to construct and operate a nursing <br /> <br /> <br />
