FRIDAY. SEPTEMBER 14. 1990 <br /> <br /> CAFV-participate in or intervene in any <br /> political campaign on behalf of any candidate <br /> for public office; <br /> <br />7. Although the services of CAFV are primarily <br /> utilized by members of the female sex, CAFV <br /> does not discriminate on the basis of <br /> religion, conviction, race, color, sex or <br /> national origin; now, therefore,' <br /> <br />BE'IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, in regul&r session assembled <br />September 14, 1990, that it hereby notifies the Virginia <br />General Assembly that said Council.supports the Citizens <br />· Against Family Violence, Inc. in their efforts to obtain <br />exemption from taxation of real estate and other property <br />owned by them; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Council that it recommends <br />to the Virginia General Assembly that the Citizens <br />Against Family Violence, Inc. be classified as a <br />charitable organization. <br />· ~ <br /> <br />~Council considered adopting a Resolution recognizing the <br /> <br />accomplishments of the Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad <br />during the International Rescue and Emergency Care Association <br /> <br />competition. Mr. Jim Peverall, President of the M-ItC Squad, and <br /> <br />several members of the Squad were present. to receive the <br />Resolution..Mr. Peverall stated that the competition was a "total <br /> <br />team effort" and that the Squad provides the same care as the care <br /> <br />given in the competition on a daily basis. Upon motion, duly <br />seconded, and by unanimous vote, Council adopted the following <br /> <br />Resolution: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, representatives of the Martinsville-Henry County <br />Rescue Squad were selected on the basis of outstanding <br />performance in competition among their peers to represent <br />the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads in <br />international competition; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad <br /> <br /> <br />
