FRIDAY. SEPTEMBER 14. 1990 CAFV-participate in or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office; 7. Although the services of CAFV are primarily utilized by members of the female sex, CAFV does not discriminate on the basis of religion, conviction, race, color, sex or national origin; now, therefore,' BE'IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regul&r session assembled September 14, 1990, that it hereby notifies the Virginia General Assembly that said Council.supports the Citizens · Against Family Violence, Inc. in their efforts to obtain exemption from taxation of real estate and other property owned by them; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Council that it recommends to the Virginia General Assembly that the Citizens Against Family Violence, Inc. be classified as a charitable organization. · ~ ~Council considered adopting a Resolution recognizing the accomplishments of the Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad during the International Rescue and Emergency Care Association competition. Mr. Jim Peverall, President of the M-ItC Squad, and several members of the Squad were present. to receive the Resolution..Mr. Peverall stated that the competition was a "total team effort" and that the Squad provides the same care as the care given in the competition on a daily basis. Upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous vote, Council adopted the following Resolution: WHEREAS, representatives of the Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad were selected on the basis of outstanding performance in competition among their peers to represent the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads in international competition; and ' WHEREAS, the Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad
