TUESDAY. AUGUST 28. 1990 <br /> <br />Session for the purpose of discussing: (1) an appointment to the <br />Dan River ASAP Policy Board, as authorized by Subsection 1 of <br />Section 2.1-344(A), and (2) appointments to the Transportation <br />Safety .Commission, as authorized by Subsection 1 of Section 2.1- <br />344(A). At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council <br />reconvened into regular session, wherein, by a unanimous recorded <br />vote, each member of Council certified that (1) only public <br />business matters exempted from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Executive Session, and (2) only those business <br />matters identified in the motion convening the EXecutive Session <br />were heard, discussed or considered by Council during said session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council made the <br /> <br />following appointments: (1) to the Dan River ASAP Policy Board, <br />Mrs. Barbara Holland, to fill an unexpired termending 4/13/93; and <br />(2) to the Transportation Safety Commission, for the 1990-91 school <br />year, Ms. Melanie Hain (a reappointment) and Mr. Matthew Dietrich. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain reminded the news media that the first regular <br />meeting of Council in September has been rescheduled for September <br />14 due to the annual meeting of the Virginia Municipal LeagUe. <br /> <br />In response to a question by Councilman Oakes, Mr. Brown stated <br />that the City had received no formal response to a letter which was <br />written by the Mayor to the Henry County Board of Supervisors <br />regarding the construction of court facilities for Henry County. <br /> <br /> <br />
