TUESDAY, .JULY -24, 1990 <br /> <br />"~"~' is hereby rezoned'from R-9 Residential to C-3 Commercial. <br /> <br />'BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after <br />July 25, 1990. <br /> <br />Council'considered adopting Ordinance No. 90-11 amending Chapter <br />24, Weapons, Section 24-5, Discharge of air guns, gravel shooters, <br /> <br />etc., of the City Code to allow archery. In response to a question <br />by Mayor McClain, Assistant Chief of Police Richard Reeves <br />explained that the' change in the Code was necessary to allow an <br />individual to open and operate an indoor archery range with the <br />approval of the Chief of Police. Mr. James A. Mason had made a <br />request to open an indoor archery range and' pro shop in the old <br />Ayer ' s Skating Rink on Memorial Boulevard. In response to <br /> <br />approved the following ordinance: <br /> <br />questions by Councilman Adams, Mr. Mason explained that the range <br />was designed to accommodate ten lanes for archery practice and that <br />the use of crossbows would not be allowed. City Manager Brown <br /> <br />explained that the proposed change would bring archery ranges in <br /> L/, . r . · <br /> <br />line with the requirements which the City imposes for firearms <br />ranges.
