Council considered authorizing the City Manager-. to execute contracts for the construction of a Booster Pump Station and a I million gallon Steel Welded Water Tank. Mr. Brown .reviewed the .major components of the City's water system, including the sources I. of raw water, transmission lines, the filtration-facility, water storage capacity, and the distribution system...Mr. Brown explained that thel water system design..capacity is =10-,million gallons. .However, the water storage capacity currently:, isII4.7,.million gallons. The proposed new tank and pump station is intended to increase the storage capability to 5.7 million gallons. Mr. Brown reviewed the bids received in response to the City's request for bids on the project and recommended that the=contract be awarded to the lowest bidder, Advance Tank and Construction Company, Inc. of Pell City, Alabama. The total cost of both the water tank and the pump lift station was said to be $477,732. Mr. Brown explained that the funds for the project wereincluded in the FY89-90 Budget, but'that since the project was not doneinthe 1989-90~fiscal year, ~except for engineering, the balance of the-funds .were moved back
