Mr. Brown .reviewed the <br /> <br />.major components of the City's water system, including the sources <br /> <br />I. of raw water, transmission lines, the filtration-facility, water <br /> <br />storage capacity, and the distribution system...Mr. Brown explained <br /> <br />that thel water system design..capacity is =10-,million gallons. <br />.However, the water storage capacity currently:, isII4.7,.million <br /> <br />gallons. The proposed new tank and pump station is intended to <br /> <br />increase the storage capability to 5.7 million gallons. Mr. Brown <br /> <br />reviewed the bids received in response to the City's request for <br /> <br />bids on the project and recommended that the=contract be awarded <br /> <br />to the lowest bidder, Advance Tank and Construction Company, Inc. <br /> <br />of Pell City, Alabama. The total cost of both the water tank and <br /> <br />the pump lift station was said to be $477,732. Mr. Brown explained <br />that the funds for the project wereincluded in the FY89-90 Budget, <br />but'that since the project was not doneinthe 1989-90~fiscal year, <br /> <br />~except for engineering, the balance of the-funds .were moved back <br /> <br /> <br />
