'TUESDAY. JUNE 5. 1990 <br /> <br />A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor L,D. Oakes presiding, was held <br />Tuesday, June 5, 1990,I in the Circuit Courtroom, City Hall, <br />beginning at 4:00~P.M. for the'purpose of holding a joint meeting <br />with the Henry County Board of Supervisors to hear a presentation <br />from R.A.M. Communications Consultants on their study of Emergency <br />Medical Services in Martinsville and Henry County. All members of <br />Council'were present: L.D. Oakes, Mayor; Clyde L. Willjams, Vice- <br />Mayor; William C. Cole, Jr.; Alfred T. Groden; and Allan McClain. <br /> <br /> Those in attendance from Henry County 'were: ' Robert E.-Scott, <br /> Chairman; Simon C. Spencer, Vice-Chairman; R.J. Frye; and Robert <br />· L. Whitener, Jr. from the Board of Supervisors. Also attending <br /> <br /> were C. Lee Lintecum, Henry County Administrator; Veronica M. <br /> ~ Venable, Deputy County Administrator; Dale McGhee, County Attorney; <br /> <br />~ and Benny Summerlin, Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br />After the invocation, followed by Mayor Oakes' cordial welcome to <br />-visitors, City Manager Brown explained the purpose of the meeting, <br />reviewed the history of the project, and introduced Michael W. <br />Hunter, President of RAM Communications, and Terry L. Wright, also <br />of RAM. C. Lee Lintecum, County Administrator, commended the <br />rescue squads on 'their willingness to submit to a study and turned <br />the meeting over to the consultants. <br /> <br />Mr. Hunter began by explaining that the problems which are <br /> <br /> <br />
