=' APRXL 10 1990 TUESDAY, , :~ reguiar~semi-monthly meeting of'the Council of the City of Ma~'tins~'ille, Virginia, with Mayor L.D. Oakes presiding' was held Tuesday,' April 10, 1990, in 'the COuncil Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 9:00'A.M. All members of Council were present: L.D. 0akes, Mayor; Clyde L. Williams, Vice-MayOr; William C. Cole, Jr., Alfred T. Groden; and Allan McClain. After the invocation, followed by Mayor 0akes' cordial welcome to visi- tors, the Mayor explained that following the regular meeting, Council would' COnduct a budget work session. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed Lance G. 'H~ater as Clerk of Council until June 30, 1990. Council noted that · while Mr. Heater's supervision and controlas Assistant to the~CityManag- er w0uid be under the sole jurisdiction and control of the'City Manager, his supervision and control as Clerk of Council would be under the sole jurisdiction and control of the CoUncil. CounCil approved the minutes Of its regular meeting held March 27, 1990, with the following corrections: Page 289: Page 291: The third paragraph should be chm~ged to read as follows: "Upon motion, duly seconded and by unani- mous vote, City Council accepted that portion of Rec- ommendation No. 8, thereby;/authorizing the City Man- ager to issue a Request for Qualifications to begin identifying qualified vehdors of construction and separation equipment for 'the post-collection fluidized bed option." '; The last sentence of the first paragraph should read: "The Mayor noted that Council and the Henry County Board of Supervisors have authorized a study of rescue services to be conducted..."
