298 TUESDAY, MARCH27, 1990 Vice-Mayor Williamsstated that.he had artended a meet:ing of..the Economic Development Corporation and felt that they were doing an outstanding job. In accordance with the CODE OF VIRGINIA, Chapter 21, 'the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Article 4, Executive or Closed Meetings, Section 2.1-344(A), and upon motion, duly seconded and carried by a recorded vote of 5-0, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing or considering: (A) An appointment to the Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission, as authorized by Subsection 1 of Section 2.1-344A; (B) An appointment to the Dan River VASAP Executive Board, as authorized by Subsection 1 of Section 2.1-344A; and (C) a personnel matter related to the City Mmlager, as authorized by Sub- section 1 of Section 2.1-34/|A. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular session wherein, by a recorded vote, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only those business matters which were identified in the motion convening said Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered by Council during said session. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council made the following appointments to various Boards and Commissions: A. Bonnie Itodges to the Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission (to fill an unexpired term ending 12/31/90). B. Claire England to the Dan River VASAP Executive Board (three-year term ending April 13, 1993). Council took no action on item (C), a personnel matter related to the City Manager.
