298 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, MARCH27, 1990 <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Williamsstated that.he had artended a meet:ing of..the <br />Economic Development Corporation and felt that they were doing an <br />outstanding job. <br /> <br />In accordance with the CODE OF VIRGINIA, Chapter 21, 'the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, Article 4, Executive or Closed Meetings, Section 2.1-344(A), <br />and upon motion, duly seconded and carried by a recorded vote of 5-0, Council <br />convened into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing or considering: <br />(A) An appointment to the Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1 of Section 2.1-344A; (B) An appointment to the Dan <br />River VASAP Executive Board, as authorized by Subsection 1 of Section 2.1-344A; <br />and (C) a personnel matter related to the City Mmlager, as authorized by Sub- <br />section 1 of Section 2.1-34/|A. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, <br />Council reconvened into regular session wherein, by a recorded vote, each <br />member of Council certified that (1) only public business matters lawfully <br />exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive <br />Session; and (2) only those business matters which were identified in the <br />motion convening said Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered by <br />Council during said session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council made the following <br />appointments to various Boards and Commissions: <br /> <br /> A. Bonnie Itodges to the Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission <br /> (to fill an unexpired term ending 12/31/90). <br /> <br /> B. Claire England to the Dan River VASAP Executive Board (three-year <br /> term ending April 13, 1993). <br /> <br />Council took no action on item (C), a personnel matter related to the City <br />Manager. <br /> <br /> <br />
