TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, 1989 <br /> <br />City-operated off-street parking lots be increased from two hours to three <br />hours and (2) the twenty-minute on-street time limit for parked vehicles remain <br /> <br />unchanged. <br /> <br />In'accordance with the requirements of subsection A. 1 of Section 2.1-344 of the <br />CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and aS amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and <br />unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened into an Executive <br />Session for the purposes of (1) considering nominees for appointment/reappoint- <br />ment to membership on the Board of the City's Industrial Development Authority <br />and (2) considering personnel appointments. At the conclusion of this <br />Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular session, where each member, <br />on roll call, certified (1) that only public business matters, as are lawfully <br />exempted from open meeting requirements, under Chapter 21 (Freedom of <br />Information Act) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA, were heard, discussed and/or <br />considered by Council in said Executive Session and (2) that only such public <br />business matters, as ·were identified in the motion by which the aforesaid <br />Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed and/or considered in said <br />Executive Session. Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council <br />reappointed Messrs. Thomas J. Burch and Newton M. Ogden to membership on the <br />Board of Directors of the City's Industrial Development Authority for four-year <br />terms beginning September 27, 1989.
