TUESDAY, JUNE 27, 1989 <br /> <br />Landfill Charges: <br /> <br />(Based on Estimated Vehicle Capacity at $0.50/Cubic Yard) <br /> <br />Car (Minimum Charge) <br />Car with Trailer <br />Pick-Up Truck <br />Flat-Bed Truck, Small Dump, Vans (1 to 1-1/2 Ton) <br />All Other Single.Axle Trucks <br />Tandem Dump Trucks <br /> <br />$1.00 <br />$1.50 <br />$2.00 <br />$2.50 <br />$3.00 <br />$4.00 <br /> <br />Compaction Vehicles $2.00/cubiC yard x rated vehicle capacity <br /> (Based on 4:1 Compaction/Loose Ratio) <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that, an emergency existing, this Ordinance <br />shall be in effect on and after July 1, 1989. <br /> <br />In recognition of the free market system enjoyed by the public and the <br />scheduled Grand Opening in Martinsville of Liberty Fair Mall and its importance <br />to the local economy, Council unanimously adopted the following resolution: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Constitution of the United States recognizes the <br />freedom of the American consumer to produce, to sell, and to buy <br />or not to buy in the open marketplace; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a major function of our competitive free market system <br />is to satisfy consumer demand; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, everyone is a consumer and should have access to a wide <br />assortment of competitively priced goods and services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the greatest fairness for consumers can be achieved <br />through the active cooperation of educators, business, <br />government, and consumers themselves working together to insure <br />equity, increased competition, and safety in our free market <br />economy; an~~ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the owners and operators of business establishments in <br />Martinsville and Henry County endeavor to provide modern, <br />convenient shopping facilities with a variety of products for the <br />citizens of the City and County, as well as the surrounding <br />areas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Liberty Fair Mall is a major commercial addition to <br />the area which will provide a variety of products for the <br />consumer; and <br /> <br />/ \ <br /> <br /> <br />
