<br />BE IT FURTHER 0RDAINED by said Council that an emergency existing,
<br />this ordinance shall be in force on and after July 1, 1989.

<br />Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council
<br />at its forthcoming June 13th regular meeting for the purpose of receiving views
<br />of Martinsville citizens for or on behalf of any nominee or applicant for
<br />membership on the Martinsville City School Board for a three-year term
<br />beginning July 1, 1989, to succeed Mrs. Catherine Stone, who has requested that
<br />she not be considered for reappointment at the expiration of her present term
<br />on June 30, 1989. Council stipulated that applications and accompanying
<br />resumes should be filed with the office of the CityManager no later than noon
<br />of Wednesday, June 7, 1989.
