304

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 1991
the City's proposed landfill could be opened. Vice-Mayor Groden asked
Chambers what the cost would be to the City to send its waste to Amelia
County° Chambers indicated that it would be the same rate as previously
established for the City's proposed landfill--S33.00, plus the transportation
costs. In response to a question from Mrs. Henderson regarding the deadline
date of January 1994, Mayor Mcclain stated that after Jan. 1, 1994, the City
could no longer put waste into its existing landfill as currently constructed
without penalty.

Mr. Swinney inquired as to whether the City was going to ~absorb refuse (as
planned) destined for the County landfill, since the County had to close its
landfill prior to January 1994.
