Mayor McClain noted that two studies have <br />been made of this situation--one six years ago and another about two years <br />ago--and it was concluded that people on the streets are there because they <br />want to be. Bonnie Draper, 1011 Roundabout Road, stated that we have <br />homeless living in abandoned houses, etc. Bruce Dallas, 211 Massey Street, <br />stated there are at least 30 persons who no place to go. Councilmen Oakes <br />and Adams noted that we may need to do another survey of this situation. <br /> <br />Mayor Allan McClain stated that this is an opportunity for the Council to <br />listen to the citizens. The Mayor stated that there is never enough money to <br />do everything, but the Council now has some ideas for use during the budget <br />process. <br /> <br />Councilman L. D. Oakes expressed appreciation for those attending the meeting <br />and letting-the Council know their concerns. He suggested that Council might <br />tour t~!he areas mentioned by the citizens. <br /> <br />Councilman George B. Adams also expressed appreciation for the attendance and <br />noted that Council's objective is to see what the City can do and to let the <br />citizens know what the City plans to do. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Alfred T. Groden stated that when citizens have concerns, they <br />should come to Council Meetings and express those concerns. He noted that <br />the pq~er is in the people and suggested that the way to get results was for <br />people to attend Council Meetings. <br /> <br />Councilman Clyde L.
