MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1991 <br /> <br />Mr. Joyce introduced Jeff Meredith, Southern Regional Manager of Chambers <br />Development Company, Inc. Mr. Meredith introduced Delegate Alan~ A. <br />Diamonstein who commented positively about the reputation of Chambers. Mr. <br />Meredith explained that the proposed agreement between the City and County <br />and Chambers has a $33/Ton gate rate. Host Fees returned to the localities <br />will be $1/Ton from 0-750 Tons, $1.50/Ton from 750-1,000 Tons, and $2.50/Ton <br />from 1,000-1,500 Tons. The $33/Ton rate translates into an effective rate of <br />$26-$30/Ton if the Host Fee is included. He noted that Chambers would assume <br />all capital costs involved in the construction, operation and financing of <br />this facility and would assume responsibility for the closure and post- <br />closure of the facility for a thirty-year period. <br /> <br />Mr. Meredith introduced Greg Rosser, Southern Regional Environmental Manager <br />of Chambers, and Judith G. Napier, Corporate Development Area Manager of <br />Chambers. Mr. Rosser conducted a slide presentation of the type of <br />facilities they construct and operate. He revealed that the proposed <br />location'of the facility would be on a 350-400 acre tract of land located off <br />of State Roads 702 and 650 in the Leatherwood area of Henry County. He <br />responded to questions from the Council and Board. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously agreed upon, Council and the Board <br />of Supervisors voted to set a joint public information meeting at 6:00 p.m. <br />and public hearing at 7:30 p.m. for Tuesday, December 3, 1991, in the City's <br />Circuit Courtroom. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimous vote, the Mayor declared the meeting <br />adjourned. . <br /> <br /> .
