.~ != = .I= TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 1991 <br />November 21, 1991, at 7:00 p.m~ ihthe=~i'bert Harris School Librar'.yo <br /> <br />The Mayor'reminded Council of the Bi-Centennial Celebration Ceremony to be <br />huld Monday, October 28, 1991, at 6:00 p.m. in front of Martinsvill~ High <br />School. This will be the 200th anniversary celebration of Martinsville as a <br />Town. There will be a concert performed at 7:00 p.m. by the U. S. Navy Band <br />in the High School AuditoriUm. <br /> <br />The Mayor acknowledged a report on Board/Commission attendance, but there was <br />no discussion at this time. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that there would be a Joint Meeting of City Council and <br />the Henry County Board of Supervisors on Monday, November 18, 1991, at 4:00 <br />p.m. in the Martinsville Circuit Court Room to consider the Administrations' <br />recommendations on solid waste. <br /> <br />Council received a report on the regulation of solicitation for charitable <br />purposes. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Groden and Councilman Oakes expressed concern that the Christmas <br />Parade had been'canceled for this year, but were glad to hear that '.~ere were <br />some interested citizens who were trying to schedule a parade. Mayor McClain <br />and Acting City Manager Heater will be attending a meeting with this group on <br />Wednesday, October 23, to assist in the effort. .= <br /> <br />There being no further business for consideration, the Mayor declared the <br />meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
