FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of Council be <br />hereby is authorized and directed to certify these resolutions to <br />the Bank and that the provisions thereof are in conformity with the <br />Charter. of this Corporation. <br /> <br />The Mayor noted that the request from Mr. Michael A. Muse on behalf of <br />Martinsville Home Builders, Inc., for the rezoning of Lot 38, located at <br />1016-1/2 Fayette Street, from R-6. Residential to C-1A Commercial, had been <br />withdrawn. <br /> <br />Upon motion, .duly seconded, and unanimous vote, Council scheduled a public <br />hearing for November 12, 1991, on a request by the Piedmont Arts Association <br />for an amendment to Section IX--Off-Street Parking and Loading Space, <br />Paragraph B--Specifications of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />Council accepted a report by Acting City Manager Lance Heater that the City <br />has received notification from the Virginia Department of Corrections that <br />~he localities of Martinsville City, Henry County, and the Town of Ridgeway <br />would qualify for regional status and state construction funding reimburse- <br />ment relative to the proposed construction of a regional jail. He noted that <br />this did not constitute funding approval at this time. He noted receipt of <br />a letter from the City's consultant, SFCS of Roanoke, stating that they would <br />update, at~ no additional cost, the Detention Facilities Needs Assessm~'~t <br />(since the last figures included Patrick County in October 1990) for Martins- <br />ville and Henry County and consider the work as part of Phase I of the Agree- <br />ment. Mr. Heater also noted that the City and County Administrations wouldTM <br />like a chance to work with the consultant on this final segment of Phase I <br /> <br />and' come back to Council and the Henry County Board with a recommendation. <br />This information should be available in the next two to three months. <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that the Council*s first Town Meeting would be Thursdays <br /> <br /> <br />
