2.42 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1991 <br /> <br />Council extended a public invitation to any member of the Henry County Board <br />of Supervisors desiring to do so to attend the October 10, 1991 Council <br />meeting in order to hear the annual report by the M-HC Economic Development <br /> <br />Corporation. <br /> <br />Mayor.-McClain announced that Council would hold a reception for City Manager <br />Brown at the Mayor's home at 1715 Meadowview Lane beginning at 6:00 P.M. on <br />September 27, 1991 prior to Mr. Brown's retirement dinner. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council voted to increase <br />the salary of Lance G. Heater by $1,000 during the time in which he serves as <br />Acting City Manager (thereby increasing his monthly compensation from $3,268 <br />to $4,268). It was noted that this supplement will be eliminated when ~his <br />duties as Acting City Manager are terminated by Council and that his salary <br />would return to its current level at that time° However, it was also noted <br />that Mr. Heater is scheduled to 'receive a development step increase in MaY <br /> <br />1992, which will increase his monthly base compensation to $3,382.42. <br /> <br />Therefore, if Mr. Heater returns to the position of Assistant City Manager <br />after March 1, 1992, his monthly salary wall revert to that amount. <br /> <br />Upoh motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council designated Janice <br />Lawson as Acting Clerk of Council during the period in which Lance Heater <br />serves as Acting City Manager and moved that she be compensated for these <br />duties, in addition to her regular rate of pay, at a rate of $200 per <br />meeting .' <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344'(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as <br />amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and carried by a unanimous recorded <br />vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose of considering <br /> <br /> <br />
