In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) ofthe CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as <br />amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and carried by a unanimous recorded <br />vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose of considering <br />the following matters~ (1) nominations for appointment to the <br /> <br />Virginia Emergency Medical Services Council, as authorized by Subsection 1; <br />(2) possible sale of City-owned real estate, as authorized by Subsection 3; <br />(3) ~ersonnel matters, as authorized by Subsection 1; and (4) a legal matter, <br />as authorized by Subsection 7. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, <br />Council reconvened into regular session, wherein, by a recorded vqte, each <br />member of Council certified that (1)only-public business matters exempted <br />from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and <br />(2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the <br />Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council nominated Mr. <br />Charles L. Millican, III, 101 Wood Street, Apartment A-2, (who is the newly- <br />hired EMS Coordinator for Martinsville and Henry County) and James Peverall, <br />Jr., 215 Aaron Street, for appointment to the Western Virginia Emergency <br />Medical Services Council for an unexpired term ending January, 1992 <br />(replacing Gerald Campbell, who had resigned). <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the sale <br />of a 10-acre tract of land in the City's Industrial Park, designated as Tract <br />17, to Mr. Clay Earles of the Martinsville Speedway for the price of ~'2,500 <br />per acre. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain announced that~it is Council's intention to appoint Mr. Lance <br />Heater, Assistant City Manager, as Acting City Manager effective October 1, <br />1991.' <br /> <br /> <br />
