CounciI~ t~eh~began a review of the <br />recommendedby the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> THURSDAY, · JULY 18., 199'1 <br /> <br />proposed subdivision ordinance ' s <br /> <br /> In response to a ~question by Mayor <br /> <br /> McClain, Mr. Brown stated that the City Administration did not support the <br /> Planning Commission's-proposal, mainly because he felt that the Commission's <br /> version did not grant sufficient review authority to the agent of the <br /> Planning Commission. Mr. Brown stated that he felt the administration of the <br /> Subd~i~ision Ordinance should be done by the agent of the Council, with <br /> requests for variances from the provisions of the Ordinance being.referred to <br /> the Planning Commission. Mr. Brown said that the final decision ~on the <br />I'granting of variances should be made by City Council. Under the Current <br />Ordinance, the Planning Commission is charged with administering the <br />Ordinance and with!granting variances to the Ordinance. The "Administrative" <br />-Ordinance, as-prepared by the City Administration, would' establish the <br />· procedure-favored by Mr. Brown. In response to a question by Vice-Mayor <br /> <br />=Groden, Mr. Cox stated that the Commission felt that the current procedure <br /> =whereby the Planning Commission is charged with the administration of the <br /> 'Ordinance has worked well and that this procedure should be continued in the <br /> new Subdivision Ordinance. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br /> Council approved in concept the Administration's version of the Subdivision <br /> Ordinance and asked that the draft Ordinance be modified to reflec~t~Ithis.' <br /> <br />Mayor McCIain then declared this meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />L .
