TUESDAY, JUNE25, 1991 <br />inspected the site and that he would be making suggestions to the developer <br /> <br />regarding this problem. <br /> <br />Councilman Adams asked that the Virginia Municipal League Education Policy <br />Committee's position statement regarding the direct election of school ~oards <br />beplaced on the July 9, 1991 Council agenda for discussion. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Councilman Adams, Council asked that the City <br />Manager'sOffice attempt to schedule a meeting with Council and the Planning <br />COmmission'~'t0~'dis~'~uss the proposed new ZOning and Subdivi~On~Ord!inances <br />during the period between July 9 and 23. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Vice-Mayor Groden, Mr. Brown stated t2~t he <br />would investigate the status of unsightly conditions at property at church <br /> <br />and Massey Streets. <br /> <br />In responseto an inquiry by Councilman Oakes, Mr. Brown stated that he would <br />investigate the status of ~unsightly conditions at Reynolds Electronics on <br />Memorial'Boulevard. <br /> <br />Council decided to attempt to schedule a dinner in honor of retiring School <br />Board members Worth H. Carter, Jr. and William W. Edwards, Jr. and City <br />Manager Brown for 40 years of service to the City. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain then declared this meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Lance G.
