"~ <br /> <br />(3) IClass 3 misdemeanor: By a fine of not more than five <br />hundred dollars ($500.00). <br /> <br />(4) Class 4 misdemeanor: By a fine of not more than two <br />hundred dollars ($250.00). <br /> <br />(5) Traffic infraction: By a fine of not more than one <br />hundred dollars ($100.00). <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted, on second <br /> <br />reading, the following Ordinance No. 91-3: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of MartinsVille, <br />Virginia, in regular session assembled May 14th, 1991, that it does <br />hereby amend Chapter 13--Offenses-Miscellaneous, Section 13'5'- <br />Obstructing Justice, of the City Code, as follows: <br /> <br />Section 13-5. Obstructing justice. <br /> <br /> (a) If any person without just cause knowingly obstructs <br /> a judge. magistrate, justice. juror, witness or any law <br /> enforcement officer in the performance of his duties as <br /> such or fails or refuses without just cause to cease such <br /> obstruction when requested to do so by such judge, <br />· magistrate. justice. ~uror, witness, or law-enforcement <br />. officer, he shall be guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor. <br /> (b) If any person, by threats, or force, knowingly <br /> attempts to intimidate or impede a judge, magistrate, <br /> justice, juror, witness, or an officcr of a court, any <br /> law-enforcement officer, in thc dischargc of his duty, <br /> lawfully engaged in his duties as such. or to obstruct or <br /> impede the administration of justice in any court, he <br /> shall be deemed to be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved, on first <br />reading,' Ordlnance No. 91-6 amending Section 12-140--Adoption of amendments <br />and additions to motor vehicle laws by reference, Article VI--State <br />Regulations for Moeor Vehicle Operation, Chapter 12--Motor Vehicles and <br />Traffic, of the City Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
