Gary Via, Purchasing Agent, <br />Coordinator for the City. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown:gavespecial <br />for his work as Safety <br /> <br /> Mayor McClain relayed the following two complaints voiced to him by Ms. Betty <br /> Jo Martin: (1) a lack of sight distance at the corner of Old and New Spruce <br /> Streets; and (2) littering in a flower garden in the Industrial Park.' Mrl <br /> Brown contended that the sight distance at the corner of Old and New Spruce <br /> <br />~S'treets had~been improved. Mr. Brown said that he would look into the <br />1 ittering situation i . <br /> <br />Councilman Oakes asked Mr. Brown to set up a meeting of the Insurance <br />Committee in the near future. <br /> <br />In accordance w.ith Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as <br />amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and carried by a unanimous recorded <br />vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing <br />the following matters: (1) an appointment to the Board of Appeals, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1 of Section 2.1-344(A); (2) a matter of potential <br />litigation, as authorized by Subsection 7 of Section 2.1-344(A); and (3) a <br />personnel matter involving personnel under the jurisdiction of Council, as <br />authorized bySubsection 1 of Section 2.1-344(A). At the conclusion of this <br />Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular session, wherein, by a <br />recorded vote, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business <br />matters exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed in said <br />Executive Session,. and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br />motion convening the Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered <br />during said session. <br /> <br /> <br />
