Bouldin was present:to <br /> respond to questions from Council regarding the budget. 'Upon motion, duly <br /> seconded and by unanimous vote, Council granted tentative approval tO the <br /> budget request of the Treasurer's Office in the amount'of $183,765. ~ <br /> <br />-. Council considered the budget request of the Commissioner of Revenue. Iit was <br /> noted that the net local cost for the Commissioner of Revenue is projected to <br /> be $1,243 less than the current year. Commissioner J. Ronnie Minter was <br /> present to respond :to questions from Council regarding the budget. Upon <br /> motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council granted tentative <br /> approval to the budget request of the Commissioner of Revenue in the amount <br /> of $242,509. <br /> <br />Council considered the budget request of the City Sheriff. It was noted that <br />the.net localcost for the Sheriff*s Office is projected to be $3,625 greater <br />than the current year, an increase of 2.1%. Captain Bobby Branch of the <br />Sheriff's Office was present and explained that the Sheriff's Office owned 5 <br />vehicles and that one vehicle was requested to be replaced during FY91-92. <br />It was estimated that each vehicle isdriven approximately, 25,000 miles per <br />year. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the <br />budget request of the Sheriff's Office in the amount of $871,529 (combination <br />Courts and Jail) o <br /> <br />Council considered the budget request of the Commonwealth's Attorney. It was <br />noted that the net-llocal cost for the Commonwealth*s Attorney is projected to <br />be $12,683, an increase of 49.1%. Commonwealth's Attorney J. Randolph Smith <br />explained that due to cuts on the State level, the Compensation Board had <br />advised him that it would be necessary for the Assistant Commonwea.th's <br /> <br /> <br />
