TU~SDAY~MARCH 26, 1991 <br /> <br />A regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia~?wit'h Vice-Mayor Alfred T.. Groden presiding, was held Tuesday, March <br />26, 1991 in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M. The <br />following members' of Council were present: Alfred T. Groden, Vice-Mayor; <br />George B. Adams, Jr.; L.D. Oakes, and Clyde L. Williams. Absent was Mayor <br />Allan McClain, who was away from the City. <br /> <br />After the invocation, followed by Vice-Mayor Groden's cordial welcome to <br />visitors, Council approved the minutes of its March 12, 1991 meeting as <br />circulated. <br /> <br />Council conducted a public hearing on a proposal by the Planning Commission <br />to amend the City's Comprehensive Plan in order to change the name of Cross <br />Street, located along the western end of View and Eanes Streets, to Pineview <br />Street. There being no comments by any persons present, Vice-Mayor Groden <br />declared the public hearing closed. Upon motion, duly seconded and by <br />unanimous vote, Council adopted the following Ordinance: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia',- in regular meeting assembled March 26, 1991, that the <br />ComprehensiVe Plan of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be--and <br />is hereby--amended to the extent that. Cross Street, located along <br />the western end of View and Eanes Streets, be renamed as Pineview <br />Street.~ - <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency existing, <br />this ordinance shall be in force on and after March 27, 1991. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted, on second <br />reading the followingOrdinance No. 91-1 amending Article VIII--Disconnection <br />and Reconnection,' Section 8.1-'Disconnection for Non-Payment, of the Terms <br />and Conditions 'for Electric Services, and Article IX--Disconnection and <br />Reconnection, Section 9.1--Disconnection for Non-Payment, of the Terms and <br />Conditions for Water and Sewer Sel~ices: <br /> <br /> <br />
