].44 TUESDAY, AUGUST 11, 1992 The Clerk of Council is directed to mail a copy of this Resolution to The Honorable L. Douglas Wilder, Governor; The Honorable Hunter B. Andrews, Chairman, Senate Finance Committee; The Honorable Robert B. Ball, Sr., Chairman, House Appropriations Committee; The Honorable Virgil H. Goode, Jr., Senator; The Honorable Ward L. Armstrong, Delegate; and The Honorable Patricia S. Ticer, Mayor, City of Alexandria. Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending 7/31/92. Upon motion, duly seconded and by a vote of 4 "yes" and 1 "no" (Mayor McClain), Council asked that the monthly financial report be presented at the second Council meeting of each month so that the report would reflect the actual month-end financial "close-out". In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose of considering the following: (1) appointments to a Joint City/County Long-TermSolid Waste Disposal Committee, as authorized by Subsection 1; (2) acquisition of real property for public purposes, as authorized by Subsection 3; and (3) investing of public funds where bargaining is involved, as authorized by Subsection 6. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular session, wherein, by a recorded vote, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered during said Session. Council decided to advertise for applicants for the Solid Waste Committee and to consider the appointments at the August 25, 1992 meeting.
