., ]'37 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, JULY 28, 1992 <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.i-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (950), <br />and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br />Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose of considering <br />the following: (1) acquisition of real property for public purposes, <br />as authorized by Subsection 3; and (2) investing of public funds where <br />bargaining is involved, as authorized by Subsection 6. At the con- <br />clusion of this Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular <br />session, wherein, by a recorded vote, each member of Council certified <br />that (1) only public business matters exempted from open meeting <br />requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only <br />those business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive <br />Session were heard, discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Council took no action on either matter considered in Executive <br />Session. <br /> <br />Councilman Oakes asked the Manager to check with the Virginia Municipal <br />League regarding regulation of storm water. <br /> <br />Councilman Williams asked the Manager to research the records to deter- <br />mine the sequence of events regarding discussion of an industrial <br />access road to the Sara Lee Knit Plant on Roy Street. <br /> <br />Councilman Williams also asked the City Manager to determine what, if <br />anything, can be done to insure that abandoned buildings are properly <br />secured to eliminate potential danger to citizens, especially those <br />termed as "street people". <br /> <br /> <br />
