108

: ~ TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 1992

Courthouse facility built in the City. Several citizens voiced support
for this position. Members of Council stated that the City would
conduct a campaign to inform Henry County voters of the advantages of
having the Courthouse remain in the City.

Ms. Marna Gruettner, 1248 Lanier Road, spoke in favor of a curbside
recycling program and also asked Council to appropriate the funds
necessary for the Blue Ridge Regional Library to hire a security guard
during FY 92-93.

Glenn and Becky Davis, 554 Dillard Street, spoke in general terms about
the need for the Federal Government to address environmental problems.

Ms. Susan Henderson, 717 Clarke Road, stated that the new Teen Center
located on Cleveland Avenue is long overdue.

Mr. Ted Balabanis, Hunting Ridge Road, stated that he was concerned
about the exodus of small businesses from the City and stated that
there needed to be "flexibility" and that "attitudes would have to
change". The Mayor suggested that Mr. Balabanis meet with the City
Manager to discuss his specific concerns.

There being no other comment from the public, members of Council
expressed appreciation for the attendance at the meeting and the
comments made by those who were present.

Mayor McClain then declared this meeting adjourned.

L Heater, Clerk of Council
