3.00 <br /> TUESDAY, MAY 26, 1992 <br /> <br /> complaints from citizens and asked the City Manager to review them: <br /> (1) a resident of 118 Crestwood Court stated that there was a large <br /> amount of debris in the woods near her home; (2) a residence located at <br /> 26 High Street is vacant and has high weeds growing in the lot; (3) <br /> residents of Pine Hall Road have asked for more Police patrols; (4) he <br /> had received a letter from a prisoner at the City Prison Farm and Jail"' <br /> complaining about treatment received at the Prison Farm. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br />Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose of considering <br />the following: (1) an appointment to the City Planning Commission, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1; (2) discussion of prospective new business <br />or industrywhere no prior announcement has been made, as authorized by <br />Subsection 5; and (3) possible acquisition of real property for public <br />purposes, as authorized by Subsection 3. At the conclusion of this <br />Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular session, wherein, by <br />a recorded vote, each member of Council certified that (1) only public <br />business matters exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed <br />in said Executive Session; and (2) only those business matters <br />identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, <br />discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br /> <br />Council appointed' <br /> <br />Ralph J. Pruitt, 805 Augusta Street, to the Planning Commission to fill <br /> <br />an unexpired term ending 6/30/94 (created by the resignation of George <br /> <br />c. cox). <br /> <br />Council took no action on the other matters discussed in Executive <br /> <br /> <br />
