THURSDAY, MAY 7 1992 <br />vehicle maintenance operations; and (3) the advisability of increasing <br />sewer rates to reduce the projected decrease in fund balance in FY 92- <br />93. <br /> <br />Council asked the City Manager to speak with representatives of the <br />Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad regarding the request by the <br />Rescue Squad Association for funding in the amount of $15,000 to <br />purchase ambulances for the four area rescue squads to determine <br />whether or not the Squad supported the concept. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved in <br />concept a 4% Meals Tax to be earmarked to fund capital improvements for <br />solid waste and for City Schools and asked the City Manager to develop <br />an Ordinance and implementation plan to accomplish this. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council asked the <br />City Manager to recommend funding sources for the amendments to the <br />budget approved by Council. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain then declared this meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br /> <br /> <br />
